Animovies: Shorts with a Voice is a collection of short format animations that use a variety of traditional animation techniques to get their messages to their viewers. Whether it's a poetic love letter to Gaza, a humorous poke at the dangers of smoking, or the results of over consumption and deforestation, these stories from around the world encourage audiences to consider the world around them and perceive it through empathetic, sometimes philosophical, eyes. The chosen artists have let their mediums speak as they step into an exploratory world where creatures and people relate their stories and search for meaning in the world around them. Because as one filmmaker writes, "...Our perspective can also be a point of connection-everyone can relate to feelings of confusion, or the childlike need to simply be told everything is going to be ok.” And with these thoughts, these films were born.
