Canada Bridges is collaborating with Tibetan Association of Alberta and the UCalgary SU’s Students for a Free Tibet - U of C club to bring together a beautiful evening of cross-cultural sharing between the local Indigenous communities of Treaty 7 and diverse Tibetan communities of Mohkinstsis (Calgary).
This Story Jam highlights youth voices and perspectives through sharing stories and perspectives on various topics and themes throughout the evening. We will create space for relationship building and bring together two groups of distinct communities for meaningful connections through art, music, dance, storytelling and food.
Our offering is to create a space to share stories of resistance, survival, and resilience in the face of oppression. It's an evening to learn from one another and celebrate each other's cultures and the beginning of a friendship between the local Indigenous communities and the Tibetan communities of Mohkinstsis (Calgary).
Community is invited to witness significant and sacred acts of blessings from both communities. Everyone can indulge in a potluck style feast bringing together traditional Indigenous and Tibetan cuisine where we can explore our histories and traditions through food.
We invite you to celebrate the vibrancy of our cultures!
